Crafting Luxury: Alarabi’s Contribution to Shebara Resort at the Red Sea
Hotel Shebara is part of the ambitious Red Sea Project led by Red Sea Global (RSG), one of the most prestigious and forward-thinking hospitality developments in the region. Set against a backdrop of untouched natural beauty, the project aims to redefine luxury, sustainability, and guest experience through innovative architecture and design.
The hotel was architecturally designed by Killa Design, known for pushing boundaries with bold and sustainable concepts. The interiors were crafted by Studio Paolo Ferrari, an award-winning interior design studio renowned for its refined and expressive spaces. Together, they envisioned a destination that is both cutting-edge and deeply rooted in its environment.
Our Role: Bringing the Vision to Life
Appointed by the fit-out contractor DEPA, Alarabi International Decoration was responsible for the supply and installation of Glass Reinforced Gypsum (GRG) cladding and ceilings, throughout a variety of the hotel’s interior and exterior areas, and Bespoke Jesmonite cladding for the external façade of one of the hotel’s signature zones
Our team worked closely with the contractors and design consultants to ensure every detail aligned with the high-end design intent, from the smoothness of curved ceiling panels to the precise articulation of ribbed Jesmonite textures.
Areas of Execution
We delivered our services across several premium areas of the hotel, including:
- The main hotel lobby and retail spaces, setting the tone for guest arrival
- The elegant Amalfi restaurant, which required seamless ceiling integration
- The speciality bar at the Japanese restaurant, where lighting and ambiance demanded accurate surface treatments
- The fitness centre and expansive spa areas.
- The engaging and playful kids club, designed with care and functionality
Each space presented unique challenges in terms of material behavior, geometry, and integration with MEP and lighting systems. Our team leveraged deep expertise in GRG and Jesmonite to deliver durable, aesthetically superior finishes that met the highest international standards.
Materials That Make a Statement
GRG was selected for its versatility, lightweight properties, and ability to deliver crisp, architectural detail. Our use of curved GRG panels allowed the design intent to flourish, especially in spaces where fluid lines and sculptural forms were central to the visual identity.
In parallel, Jesmonite rib cladding was chosen for one of the key exterior façades, not only for its visual appeal but also for its weather-resistant and environmentally conscious properties. The custom finish achieved a tactile, elegant surface that resonates with the natural surroundings of the Red Sea coast.
Conclusion
From January to July 2024, Alarabi International Decoration proudly executed its scope with precision, dedication, and an unwavering attention to detail. The result is a seamless integration of architectural and interior design visions through advanced GRG and Jesmonite composite material applications.
The Hotel Shebara project stands as a landmark in our portfolio, a symbol of what is possible when design ambition meets technical craftsmanship. We are honored to have contributed to this world-class destination and look forward to continuing our work across the region’s most inspiring projects.
